When I was a young man I never, not for one second, thought I’d be sitting down at a computer writing about bags you keep clean dirt in so that you can grow mushrooms for fun and frolics. Never crossed my mind. Still, I’ll bet you never thought you’d end up reading about it either so hey, what a mad ride it’s been for the both of us.
Unicorn Bags. This firm has been making bags specifically for mushroom cultivation since 1990, back when music was still good. There ain’t a goddamn thing these guys don’t know about making durable well-suited bags for all your mushroom growing needs. I was going to write that they eat, sleep, and breathe bags but I wouldn’t want anyone to try breathing in a plastic bag in case they died, so what I will say is that this company is very committed to making sure mushroom growers have access to the right kit.
This particular model is for keeping your substrate in so you can add your colonised grain spawn to it. You could fruit in it too once the sub’s been fully colonised if you’re growing some oysters or other side-fruiting mushrooms. I suppose you could even use it for the top-fruiters if you put a bit less substrate in or bought a little tent for the top, if you like. If you’re looking for the bags for putting your grain spawn in, they’re over here!
You could buy them direct from Unicorn Bags as well, but you’d have to buy a thousand or so, then ship them over from Texas which would be expensive and take ages, or you could just buy a few from us. Up to you!

I've been using these XLS-A Unicorn bags from MycoPunks and they are top-notch. They hold up incredibly well during sterilization and handle our local wood pellet substrate perfectly. We grow a lot of Lion's Mane, Blue Oyster, and King Oyster mushrooms, and these bags provide the exact environment they need to thrive. Highly recommended!

The bags are ok but i thought they had injection ports. Probaly my fault shopping in a rush but at a glance its not clear.
The fact that one product is called '10T Unicorn Bag' and one is called '10T W/ Injection Port Unicorn Bag' and INJECTION PORT written in bold black letters on the product image I would *hope* is clear enough. Giving a product a bad review because you were in a rush doesn't seem paticularly fair, but I guess we will just have to live with it. All the best with your mycology journey. Chris

I’m in the place where you have to give it a go and I’ve yet to use these.bags but I gave them a good look and they are good quality, so I’m eager to get to the point of using them. MycoPunks has provided me with nearly everything I need (except the end result) but I’m well happy with their products and services.
I thought I’d have a go so I checked these out and they look really good. I’ve yet to use them but I have no concerns about the quality of them, plus the company are really helpful. Nice work guys.

These bags are great, never had any issues with them. Fully autoclavable & are still pretty malleable after pressure cooker for hours. Haven’t tried using them more than twice yet but so far so good
